How to Reschedule GMAT Exam?

Sometimes plans change, and you may need to reschedule your GMAT exam. This could be because you are not fully prepared, have an important event, or something unexpected has come up. The good news is that you can reschedule your GMAT exam online with ease. Follow these steps to complete the process:

  1. Log in to Your GMAT Account: Visit the official GMAT website (mba.com) and log in to your account. Navigate to the “My Account” or “My Appointments” section to view your scheduled exam details.

  2. Select the Reschedule Option: Click on the “Reschedule” option next to your exam appointment.

  3. Choose a New Exam Date: Select a new date and time from the available options. Make sure the date fits your preparation plan and personal schedule.

  4. Check the Rescheduling Fee: Review the applicable rescheduling fee. The cost depends on how far in advance you make the change. Rescheduling early usually costs less, while changing the date close to the exam may be more expensive. Rescheduling within 24 hours of your appointment may be treated as a missed exam, requiring you to pay the full exam fee again.

  5. Confirm Your New Slot: After selecting your preferred date, confirm the details and complete the payment if required.

  6. Receive Confirmation: Once the process is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with your updated exam information.

Can B-Schools See Cancelled GMAT Scores?

No, business schools cannot see GMAT scores that you have cancelled. After taking the GMAT, you have the option to cancel your score immediately or within the online cancellation window. Cancelled scores are not sent to any schools.

Only the scores you choose to report are visible to business schools. Cancelled scores remain private and do not appear on the official score report sent to schools. However, your personal test history with GMAC will still list cancelled attempts.

If you change your mind within the allowable timeframe, you can reinstate a cancelled score by paying a reinstatement fee. Once reinstated, you can choose to send it to schools. Until then, cancelled scores are completely hidden from admissions committees.

How to Reschedule or Cancel GMAT: Conclusion

Rescheduling or cancelling your GMAT is easy if you follow the right steps. Make sure to check the fees, deadlines, and policies for your exam type and location. Cancelled scores stay private and aren’t seen by business schools. Being aware of these rules helps you manage your GMAT plans smoothly and avoid unnecessary costs.
