The Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMATâ„¢ Focus Edition exam measures your ability to reason mathematically and solve quantitative problems. It consists of 21 multiple-choice questions. You will have 45 minutes to complete it.


Type of Questions in the Quantitative Section


In this section, you will be dealing with Problem Solving questions that require some knowledge of arithmetic and elementary algebra. Rest assured, the difficulty of the questions stems from the logic and analytical skills required, not the underlying math skills. Note that you cannot use a calculator while working on the Quantitative section.


Problem Solving
  • Measures your ability to use logic and analytical reasoning to solve quantitative problems.
  • You solve the problem and indicate the best of five answer choices.
