GMAT Registration 2024: The GMAT, or Graduate Management Admission Test, is a standardized exam that is adaptive in nature. The GMAT (old format as well as Focus Edition) is a computer-adaptive test. This means that the questions are tailored based on the students’ level. If a students is weak in a particular domain and chooses an incorrect option, the next question will be an easier one. If a students chooses the correct option, the next question will be tougher. Naturally, tougher questions carry more marks and this is reflected later during final calculations.

Registering for the exam is extremely easy. The council (GMAC) has decided to keep the exam as well as the website user friendly.

There are 5 steps in the process –

  1. Create mba.com account: Start by creating an mba.com account and provide some basic information.
  2. Click Register Button
  3. Complete Profile – Provide the personal information and other details necessary for registration.
  4. Schedule Exam –  Pick your test center (if applicable), appointment date, and time.
  5. Complete payment.

GMAT exam dates are available all year round. Because of this, GMAT registration is a very easy process and you can schedule an exam with ease.

GMAT Registration Fees 2024

In order to register for the exam, you will have to pay a registration fee of $275. It is not possible to postpone or cancel appointments within twenty-four hours of the original time. The full exam cost will be lost if you don’t cancel or reschedule by this deadline.

The amount mentioned ($275) is just the fee meant for the exam, on top of it – you have to pay taxes amounting to $49.50. This takes the overall amount to approximately 27,000 INR.

GMAT Registration 2024 Slot Booking

There is a distinction between securing a spot and registering for the GMAT 2024 exam. While reserving a slot for the GMAT entails securing the day, time, and testing location for the exam, registration for an exam requires the creation of a one-year account.

Every time you wanted to take the exam during that year, you would have to reserve a time slot and pay a price of $275 for the in-person GMAT exam and $300 for the online version.

You may take the GMAT five times in a year, beginning on the day of your enrollment, as there is a maximum of five attempts allowed in a year (12 months). To put it another way, you must register for the exam once a year, but if you want to take it more than once, you will need to reserve a slot.

If, for whatever reason, your GMAT exam did not go well up to the mark, you can decide to re-register and re-appear for the exam after booking the slot. However, there must be a minimum gap of 16 days before you can do so.

That is, if you decide to give the exam on 1st of January and you score is not what you would like it to be and therefore, you plan on giving a retake, you must first re-register (and pay the fee again) and give the exam only after 16th of January.

Average GMAT Focus Edition scores range from 205-805, which is slightly transitioned from the Classic GMAT score which ranges from 200-800. Generally, 650 or above can be considered a strong score for making you a competitive applicant for many MBA programs. As per experts, a score 720 or above is great.
